The memorial service and monument unveiling ceremony was held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 The memorial was built in remembrance of those who died during the April 27 2011 DeKalb County tornadoes, as well as  to provide a community gathering place and symbol of recovery for residents and visitors alike for many generations to come.
